WordPress Widget: Technorati AutoRewards

March 23rd, 2007 by Matt Huggins

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

I’m pleased to announce my first ever WordPress Widget entitled Technorati AutoRewards. The concept is simple: reward bloggers who linked to your blog by providing a link to their most recent blog entry. It runs against Technorati’s cosmos feed, meaning that blogs that are not in Technorati will not have their links displayed in your AutoRewards widget.

By default, links to the top 5 blogs are displayed and cached in your WordPress database. There is an additional option of including a link to the blog’s homepage in addition to the most recent post, which is turned off by default.

Technorati AutoRewards WordPress WidgetTo install, simply unzip the autorewards.php file into your wp-content/plugins/widgets folder. Enable the Widget via the Plugins page within your WordPress admin, and drag the widget into your sidebar. Once enabled, you can edit the options to suit your preferences. Note that you will need to provide your Technorati API key in order for this widget to work.

Download Technorati AutoRewards WordPress Widget now, and let me know what you think!
