Win Free Business Books!
May 30th, 2007 by Matt HugginsIf you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!
In an effort to further promote my blog, I decided to put together a fun and easy contest for all you bloggers out there. Whether or not your blog relates to the field of business like this blog does, the prizes are undeniably valuable to you as a blogger.
What are the prizes?
In addition to every review receiving a free link back from this blog (currently PR3), there will be 6 winners. Each winner will receive a random selection of the prizes as listed below.
Prize #1:
Prize #2:
Prize #3:
Prize #4:
Prizes #5 & 6:
How do I qualify?
In order to qualify, simply write a post including the following 3 links: a link to my blog’s homepage with the anchor text “Entrepreneurial Blog of Matt Huggins”; a link to this contest blog entry with the anchor text “win free business books”; and a link to my Make Money Blogging series with the anchor text as used here. Here’s an example:
“The Entrepreneurial Blog of Matt Huggins is running a promotion where you can win free business books and also receive a free link back. Matt’s blog provides great content for entrepreneurs, such as his ongoing Make Money Blogging series. All you have to do is provide the three links seen here and let him know about your post to be eligible to win!”
I would prefer the reviews to include details about your likes and dislikes regarding my blog, though they are not required. I am interested in learning what you like about my blog in addition to areas requiring focus for improvement. As such, both positive and negative comments are welcome; negative comments will not effect your eligibility for this promotion!
All reviews must be completed on or before Friday, June 29th, 2007, and a comment must be posted here in order to be eligible. Your comment should include the URL to your blog post and your email address (in the email form field) such that I can contact the winners.
I would like to thank Ted Demopoulos for his generosity in providing promotional copies of his book Secrets of Successful Blogging. If you don’t win a copy of his book, I encourage you to read my review and consider purchasing it. If there are any questions about the contest, please contact me!

I have “Made to Stick” and “The Long Tail”. Both are very good. I first learned about Chris (Long Tail) from a podcast I listened to. It was advertising related and very good. I don’t think they publish their podcast anymore.
This contest is a great idea I will have to enter this weekend.

My review: Matt you will not be getting link from my blog. Not because you don’t write interesting content, you do. But this post especially your request that we use specific link text smells of technorati/google spam. If your blog is worth reviewing and linking to then why trust that your readers will do it. Isn’t striking that you’ve got a technorati rank of 47 (1 more than me) - but only 60 readers (according to feedburner).
Wouldn’t it be far more satisfying to earn your links and rank organically?
Sadly I know that this won’t win me any books (and I love reading books - prize package 4 catches my eye). But integrity seems more important here.
