Website Grader

I came across an amazing online tool today that I simply have to share. It’s called Website Grader, and it seems to answer every question you could have about how your website holds up to the competition.
Not only does it provide useful information, but it is also extremely simple to use. Just provide your website’s URL and keywords related to its niche. You also have the optional of providing URL’s of your competition for comparison, which I highly recommend trying. By providing your email address, Website Grader will deliver and email with the URL for a full copy of the report so that you can access it at a later or make it easier to print.
Website Grader takes a bit of time to create the report, as there is a hefty amount of information to process. Once it’s complete, you’ll be able to view details relating to your page’s structure, domain information, various tagging summaries, search engine indexing, and social media statistics. Several interesting notable pieces were that it recognized stop words in key places (the word “of” in my blog title), and it uncovered that my domain expires in under a year. The service recommended that I renew my domain name soon, as search engines like Google may penalize domains that are soon to expire due to expiring domains are more likely to be spam-oriented sites.
On the right is an example of the output of the website grader. Don’t be fooled, as there is a lot more to offer from this tool than just that. Note that each row’s description is actually a link, which takes you further down the report where you can see a full list of details about that particular aspect of your website. Check out the full report output for my blog to get an idea of what I mean.
Website Grader is only going to remain free for a limited time, so try it out now if you’re interested. Otherwise, you’ll need to register to use the full version once access becomes limited.

This looks like a similar tool as http://www.seomoz.org/page-strength but with added advice on improving your rankings.

Great share Matt!
And thanks for the link Terinea, I’ve found SEOmoz’s tools to be more than helpful.

I tried the SEOmoz version, but it seems a bit buggy. For my site, it returned 0 for Alexa rank, Technorati links, and PageRank, which are all wrong. It looks like it has potential to be a handy tool otherwise. However, I prefer Website Grader since it allows you to compare your site to others, as it gives more meaning to the numbers in the report.

I total agree Matt, when I started using it in the summer SEOmoz it was really good. Now like you say it misses off your Alexa ranking. Then they want you to pay an extra $39 a month for premium services, I think not.
I tried out Garder and so far I’m impressed.

this is interesting, i look at the report, it’s pretty comprehensive but lacking of the feature to help you to build links. Now day, maybe the killer SEO application will include help for you to build rank in blogsphere like technorati and more, rather then just link.
