Several months ago, Joel Comm was searching for auditions from persons interested in partaking in The Next Internet Millionaire. The show is similar to many of today’s reality shows and is especially comparable to The Apprentice: a group of individuals with Internet marketing backgrounds are split up into teams and undergo a variety of relevant money-making tasks to determine who is the strongest contestant. Production of the show is now complete, and the first episode was just posted to the site for your viewing.

The Next Internet Millionaire

I have to say that this is the first Internet show that I’ve ever watched all the way through. I was a sucker for The Apprentice (at least the first two seasons of it anyway), and I found the style and format of The Next Internet Millionaire sucking me in almost immediately after it started.

Watching the show further demonstrated the implementation of some basic ideas behind advertising. For example, Comm utilizes the Web company Hacker Safe as a central idea whereby individuals have the opportunity to win the Hacker Safe shirt each episode to gain immunity from elimination. Additionally, the theme of this week’s show being to design a landing page to make affiliate sales for the book Simpleology as well as to create a compelling presentation to Comm and Simpleology author Mark Joyner.  Though I’m sure it will not be revealed, I’m curious to know what kind of money Conn earned from these sponsorships.

So far, my favorite contestant is Jason Marshall. He seems to be an effective team leader and able to convey his thoughts well. However, this does not necessarily mean he has all the skills necessary to be The Next Internet Millionaire. There are still plenty of episodes left for that to be determined. Until then, I definitely recommend checking out the first episode!
