Search Engine Marketing Blog Review

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

As usual when surfing the Web, I found myself on a variety of sites without even knowing how I got there. Through my last chain of links, I came across Search Engine Marketing. Blog owner Darin Carter is promoting his site by offering a reciprocal link from his PR2 blog in exchange for a review along with the chance to win a free Nintendo Wii. Who am I to pass up an opportunity like this?

Looking through Darin’s posts, it appears that he follows the concept of quality over quantity. Since Search Engine Marketing’s inception in January, about 25 posts have been made, averaging at about 6 posts per month. Despite the somewhat low frequency of posts, I found the majority of Darin’s content to be very thorough and generally well thought out. I think one of the best examples of his posts is “Search Engine Marketing - Dying?“, where he compares the evolution of search engine marketing to that of television in the past.

My only dislike with Darin’s site is that there are too many topic categories for my liking, several of which seem to be similar in content (e.g.: marketing, search engine marketing, and PPC). There are 30 categories in all, which seems especially high for a blog containing 25 posts. As such, it requires a little extra time to find the category you’re interested in, but I suppose it might offer posts more specific to your interest ones you click on the category you’re after.

In all, Search Engine Marketing contains a lot of quality content. I hope to see more posts from Darin of the same caliber as his current posts.
