Projects

The following is a list of some of the projects I’ve worked on in recent years.

Black Book Singles

When it comes to online dating services, you either have to pay too much to join a “premium” website, or else you have to use an unattractive, unnavigable free website. In creating Black Book Singles, I am hoping to offer a viable alternative that is not only free, but is also aesthetically pleasing and easy to use.

Blog Marketplace

In 2007, I released Blog Marketplace, a site that enables bloggers to recruit new writers. I never did get around to promoting the site as I would have liked; creating this site was more of a learning experience with CakePHP than anything.

Downloads

The following are a collection of scripts available to other entrepreneurs since I started working on my blog that I welcome you to download for free.

  • Alexa Traffic Rank - This is a simple PHP script that makes it easy to retrieve the Alexa traffic rank for a URL. The script utilizes a screen scraping technique to retrieve the data without the need to pay for Alexa’s API services through Amazon.com.
  • Technorati AutoRewards WordPress Widget - This is my first ever WordPress Widget. The concept is simple: reward bloggers who linked to your blog by providing a link to their most recent blog entry.
  • SE-Friendly Redirection and URL Mask - This is a basic search engine friendly script that performs URL masking and redirection. It’s nothing fancy, but it might help some of you who are into affiliate marketing.

AdSense and Affiliate Marketing Websites

The following list includes some of my early attempts at learning AdSense with MFA and affiliate marketing websites.

  • Home Profiteer - Aimed at affiliate marketers, this site was intended to provide brief reviews on various ebooks providing valuable knowledge on the topic of affiliate marketing.
  • Home Wine Secrets - This was the first affiliate marketing site I put together. It was aimed at those interested in making wine at home, offering reviews for various ebooks on the topic.
  • Caffeine Enthusiast - This was the first AdSense-based website I got up, online as of January 15, 2007. It provided an assortment of unique coffee-related articles, and was organized in a search-engine friendly manner to attain organic visitors.
