MediaWhiz Buys AuctionAds

July 28th, 2007 by Matt Huggins

I overlooked an interesting piece of news from TechCrunch yesterday that announced the full acquisition of AuctionAds by MediaWhiz. MediaWhiz is the company behind the popular advertising services ReviewMe and Text-Link-Ads. Prior to the acquisition, MediaWhiz was part owner alongside Jeremy Schoemaker, better known as “ShoeMoney”. ShoeMoney confirms the acquisition on his personal blog as well.

AuctionAds is arguably one of the fastest growing advertising services, growing to over 25,000 affiliates within 4 months of launch. According to ShoeMoney, over 300 million AuctionAds ads were being displayed each day during this time.

Unfortunately, ShoeMoney was lacking the support needed to handle the growing customer service needs:

All the success was not without some growing pains though. We basically came to the realization that we had to make a choice: AucitonAds/ShoeMoney Media Group INC could bring in a staff of people, train them and all that (which we had ZERO experience in doing) OR we could sell the company to someone who already has tons of experience in that area and can take AuctionAds to the next level.

The acquisition price has remained undisclosed by both parties involved.
