Make Money Online with John Chow

I’ve been putting this off for awhile, but it’s about time I write a review of John Chow, the dot com mogul. My reasoning for putting this off is because it seems that his blog has the potential to offer a fair amount of traffic with the outbound link incentive he offers for doing a review of his blog, and I wanted to have a reasonable (if not plentiful) amount of content on my blog to make sure the readers are able to find content that suits their interests in hopes that they become regular readers.

Like myself and many other bloggers out there, John Chow blogs about topics to help you make money online. If you do a Google search for “make money online”, you’ll see that he’s ranked number two! Considering He didn’t do this by getting lucky; he did this by being smart in his blogging efforts. John recognized how common a search phrase this is and how much potential traffic he could derive from being ranked highly in SERP’s. The permanent influx of traffic as a result allows him greater opportunities at making money through advertising and sponsored blog posts.

It’s not completely surprising how well John has been able to make his blog perform. After all, he has had experience with The Tech Zone, which he has been running since 1999. Much of John’s experience stems from this, though it is clear that he has a lot more to offer now with what he has learned through blogging.

John is undeniably the kind of guy you want to mimic when it comes to making money online. The content he has to offer is honest (even including his paid reviews: take a look at his review of Super Apprentice for evidence) and straight-forward. If you’ve never visited John Chow dot Com in the past, you’ll quickly understand why he’s in the Technorati top 100 blogs list.

“content he has to offer is honest”
I guess if you consider his review of Super Apprentice was unprofessional and totally inaccurate, then I guess his content is honest.
I have lost much respect for John Chow.

    Unprofessional,

When someone orders a review through ReviewMe or a similar service, it is not guaranteed that the person performing the review will be in a positive light. Many people will write these reviews positively regardless because they don’t want to close the doors on future opportunities. However, John Chow has such a big reputation that writing a negative review is unlikely to hurt his chances at receiving future requests.

As such, I personally found myself appreciating the negative review of Super Apprentice in that it shows John Chow isn’t simply accepting every review opportunity to boast random products and services to simply maximize his earnings. Whether or not the opinions of the review accurately reflect the majority of his readers who have/would have used Super Apprentice cannot be known.

Regardless, given that JohnChow.com is a personal blog where he (and other bloggers he invites) blogs his own opinions during reviews, I don’t see how you can argue whether or not his content can be considered honest.

Matt, it is not about a negative review. It is the fact that he didn’t review the superapprentice tools I use every day. He basically said “it is a Scam” with no mention of what I was told before I ordered and what I received inside superapprentice. How is saying “Scam” without saying why it is a scam being honest? And I am more than happy with the superapprentice service. Their sa forum says “over deliver” from many members all the way through it. I would not say “Unprofessional review” if they looked at my account and saw the success I am having with Google, and then looked at all the automated tools, and then still thought they should give it a negative review. Dave has told us that the person doing the review was in there around 15 minutes. How can you really do enough DD in 15 minutes to consider yourself prepared for a review that could have an impact on Dave’s business. I think Unprofessional is the correct term.

    Rick,

I can’t argue with any of the points your making, since I don’t know anything about Dave’s service. I’m actually always interested in seeing what services like his have to offer when I read about them, and I would be delighted to take a look at what he has to offer. Unfortunately, I personally can’t afford the cost of the service to be able to take a look for myself. As such, the review on John’s blog didn’t have an effect on me personally since I couldn’t afford the service regardless.

If what you state is true, I can’t argue about the professionalism of the particular post. I can only say that I have found his content to be meaningful during the timespan that I have been reading his blog and that he does offer quality advice on the topic of making money online. All things considered, I find that it is a good resource that I read daily.
