Top Commentators Now Receive Recognition
May 3rd, 2007 by Matt HugginsIf you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!
In an effort to promote discussion on my blog, I decided to install the My Top Commentators WordPress widget. The top commentators during the course of a week will be displayed along with a link to their homepage as provided when commenting. The link does not include a nofollow attribute, so your site will receive Technorati credit if it’s a blog as well as inbound link value on search engines from a PR3 website.
As mentioned, the list will reset weekly. If you don’t manage to make enough comments to make it into the (currently set at) top 5, then you’ll be able to comment more during the following week in an effort to receive a valuable link through the top commentators list.

I tripled my comments with this plugin. I got some more traffic too, which is probably people just wanting to get a link from commenting, but who cares? I love it.
