18 Common Mistakes by Google AdSense Publishers that Violate Terms

I came across this nice condensed list of 18 common mistakes made by Google AdSense publishers on another blog, and I have seen many similar points noted randomly in forums and discussions elsewhere. It’s a good collection of noteworthy items, so I thought I would mention them here (with all due credit, of course). Below is a quick list of each item mentioned, but check out the blog I got these from for full details about each.
- Never click your own AdSense ads or get them clicked for whatever reason.
- Never change the AdSense code.
- Do not place more than 3 ad units and 1 ad link or 2 AdSense search boxes on any web page.
- Do not run competitive contextual text ad or search services on the same site.
- Do not disclose confidential information.
- Label headings as “sponsored links” or “advertisements” only.
- Never launch a new page for clicked ads by default.
- One account suffices for multiple websites.
- Place ads only on content pages.
- Do not mask ad elements.
- Do not send your ads by email.
- Keep track of your content.
- Do not alter the results after ad clicks or searches.
- Avoid excessive advertising and keyword stuffing.
- Ensure you language is supported.
- Only one referral button per product per page.
- Do not specify Google ads as your alternate ads.
- Do not disguise ads with adjacent images.
Point 8 — one account suffices for multiple websites — is actually one I was unsure of before starting. Fortunately the guys on the 2+2 Money Making & Business forum were kind enough to inform me of this rule. And after reading this, I fixed my “thank you” page on my new website (mentioned in my next blog entry) such that it does not include any advertisements.
Google AdSense is definitely a very profitable program, so it’s definitely in the best interest of each account holder to ensure his or her continued rights to the service.

“4. Do not run competitive contextual text ad or search services on the same site.”
This is something that makes me moving away from Adsense ASAP as I find an alternative to adsense.
According to http://dooblet.com/a/_/adsense/ the alternatives are as following:
***** yahoo
***** adbrite
**** ypn
**** adwords
** overture
* yahoo publisher
* affiliate
* clicksor
content match
Anyone could share experience with these alternatives?
(I set follow ups to the comments on)
Thanks.
